Now, what is this free book I'm offering, you may wonder? A Penny Lost is a YA time traveling adventure by yours truly. The official elevator pitch is below:

Penelope Grace, usually forgotten under the shadow of her twin sister's perfection, tries her hardest to hide her freakish ability to see into anyone's soul. Until she senses an unusual energy like a human-shaped void in the universe. When Penny investigates the source, she gets tossed through a crack in time along with the cute boy next door. The Void follows them through history, increasing the dangers as if testing Penny. But what is it testing for? And why does it claim to know her better than even she knows herself? Even as Penny searches for answers, she must fight to survive the tragedies of both the past and future in order to get back home.

I loved writing this book and, can I just say, look at that cover?!?! I have really lucked out with the people I've met during the editing and publishing process. Not only is there action and adventure but also an adorable love interest I would date in a second (if he was, you know, real). Can't decide if this is the book is for you? Here are some things the reviewers have said about it.

"If you are into young adult and time travel books then this is definitely the book for you. I would highly recommend giving this a read, it’s so easy to fly through."

"Don’t you just love a story where a sibling isn’t paired against another sibling? Where family is more important to the character than potential love interest? Well, you may not, but I do. And that is exactly what this book delivered. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m a sucker for love. I love me some romance books where you can’t help but cheer for two people to finally get together and live out their happy ending. But this book didn’t make me crave for romance; it gave love to me between Penny and Stranger in considerate doses and I loved it."

"If you’re into time travel stories you have to check out this adorable book especially since Bassett managed to avoid those oh so boring clichés that seem to be a staple in this kind of story. She found a way to make Penny’s journey emotionally touching, exciting and perceptive as she poured out some wonderful character development in this well-written adventure. She examined grief, love and self-esteem in a way that has you forgetting all of this is going on in a sci-fi ‘ish’ novel. Her empathy was beautiful to watch as it unfolded amidst an emotionally charged storyline. She practically makes emotions into their own characters in this book. Bassett still threw a twist towards the conclusion that will leave you wanting a sequel."

So if you're interested in a new book but don't want to pay all those pesky costs or shipping? Subscribe below or retweet this post to enter the drawing today!
